For 30 years, Mercy Housing has focused on impacting the lives of low income senior citizens and working families by building affordable housing across the country. Invest Atlanta and Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. are proud to support Mercy Housing by contributing funding towards affordable housing for seniors at the Reynoldstown Senior Residences.

Following the groundbreaking in April 2015 and over a year of construction, Reynoldstown Senior is nearly complete. Mercy Housing began accepting applications for residents in April 2016 and all 69 apartments in the building are now committed.
Reynoldstown Senior Residences are reserved for residents ages 62 and up. Rents are income restricted to preserve affordability for very low-income seniors. Located on Field Street just one block from the Eastside Trail Extension now under construction, the complex contains 58 one-bedroom units & 11 two-bedroom units.
One of the huge challenges these days is recreation and helping people live healthy lifestyles and the BeltLine is doing a tremendous service to the City of Atlanta by creating opportunities for people to come outside, have positive social interactions, get a little exercise, and meet their neighbors.
I really think of the BeltLine as a civic asset. Atlanta is green, it’s got beautiful neighborhoods, it’s got very active residents in these neighborhoods, but you have to drive everywhere.
The BeltLine said its vision was to connect people, and in practice, it is actually doing that. It’s busy, it’s happy, it’s full of culture, great social interaction, and I think it shows the average Atlantan that may not have grown up with it, the value of getting to know your neighbors and your friends and co-mingling with people from different walks of life.
